Modern science defines color as a sensation that occurs in the human organ of vision when exposed to light. Of course, the perception of any color primarily depends on the individual characteristics of each person, but excessive or insufficient brightness and other changes in characteristics can lead to distortion of perception. Therefore, the measurement of the color characteristics of lighting sources must be carried out everywhere. The resulting color can be expressed by three color coordinates or two chromaticity and lightness coordinates. Also, color can be expressed through lightness, purity and color tone. The color and chromaticity coordinates are calculated based on the spectrophotometric characteristics of colored bodies or using light measuring devices – spectrophotometers, spectrocolorimeters, colorimeters, comparators and using color atlases. The so-called correlated color temperature is used to evaluate white light. This indicator reflects the perception of white. Color deviations that are distinguishable even at the same color temperature are allowed by the standard definition of color temperature. The psychological aspect of the effect of color temperature on a person should not be underestimated. This indicator significantly affects the perception of space and is able to change the appearance of objects.
